• Parental Uncertainty: Most parents are "in the dark," with only 16–20% believing their children use GenAI for schoolwork. Only 14% of parents have discussed appropriate AI use with their children.
• Conflicting Opinions: Parents are ambivalent about AI in the classroom:
  • 58% view unauthorized GenAI use as cheating.
  • 62% worry students will fail to learn basic skills if they use AI.
  • 48% believe schools should teach students how to use AI tools.
  • Approximately one-third of parents expressed no clear opinion, indicating high levels of uncertainty.
• Education-Based Gaps: There is a significant divide in attitudes based on parental education levels. Parents with a bachelor’s degree or higher are significantly more likely to support AI integration and recognize its potential benefits compared to parents with a high school education or less.
• Teacher Challenges: Educators are struggling to implement policies, with fewer than 20% currently using GenAI. Many teachers lack formal training and clear guidance from their districts.
• Future Research: A follow-up survey is planned for early 2025 to track changes in parent knowledge, school communication, and shifting attitudes toward AI in education.
